The Homechoir hearing survey

About the Homechoir Hearing Project

The Homechoir Hearing Project aims to improve the experience of participating in digital choirs for singers who have hearing loss. The project was the 2022 brainchild of a group of Homechoristers led by Jane James, a singer with both long-term hearing loss and a background in workplace inclusiveness for employees with hearing loss.

Initial discussions resulted in the creation of our accessibility webpage of advice for singers with hearing aids and devices. Following this, the group designed and completed a pilot listening experiment and questionnaire, looking at the ways in which different sound mixes and types of hearing loss affect the ease of recording along to a Homechoir one-voice-louder rehearsal track. The information gained has been used to create the above survey. Thank you for taking part!
